At Friday, June 12th at 9:01 pm PT, Facebook will begin what I call is the Land Grab program.

Not since the dot com scene in the late 1990’s will there be an almost hysterical chase to grab the best names for pages on the Internet.

At that time, you’ll be able to choose a username on a first-come, first serve basis for your profile page and “the Facebook Pages that you administer” by using www.Facebook.com/username.

This sure beats www.Facebook.com/profile.php?id=123456789. YUCK!

Facebook does claim to have measures in place to eliminate name squatting.

If I were you, I’d immediately begin to start Facebook Pages in the areas of your specialty ( i.e. yoga, marketing, interior design or even yourself). This way you’ll be able to be found very easily in the search engines  such as Google and Bing since they love Facebook.

You should keyword optimize the name of your Facebook page and immediately grab that name when it comes available on Friday.

With just a few simple clicks of the mouse, your name and keywords will give you an even more dominant impact on the search engines.
